An Insight Into: Channel Management

Kongsberg Maritime has successfully completed the installation of an extensive suite of Simrad marine ecosystem assessment technology aboard the Victor Angelescu, the Argentinian National Institute of Fisheries Research and Development’s (INIDEP) new oceanographic and fishing research vessel.

Kongsberg Maritime has collaborated with the Norwegian Industrial Laboratory (NIA) to conduct detailed investigations of the wreck site of the World War II train ferry D/F Hydro, which was sunk in Tinnsjøen, Norway in 1944.

Ongoing Integration of K-Mate onto SEA-KIT USV

Integration of K-MATE onto the SEA-KIT is underway. Using the Maritime Broadband Radio (MBR) we have successfully tested the control of onboard equipment. K-MATE has been tested with waypoint following outside Horten, Norway.
In the coming weeks we will continue testing and integration with both K-MATE and the Hugin AUV. Stay tuned for more exciting developments!

Nevis Stone and cNODE 34 v180
Kongsberg Maritime Tasked with Deploying Nevis Stone at the Bottom of Rubislaw Quarry 

A cNODE 34 V180 release transponder, with a camera and light attached to the underside of the floatation collar, was used to lower and film the decent. GPS positioning and heading were interfaced to the topside APOS to give an exact global position of the rock on the quarry floor, 116m below the surface.

HiPAP Training
Kongsberg Maritime Ltd Completes a Customised HIPAP Course

Kongsberg Maritime recently completed a customised HIPAP technical course, including HAIN, for DEME Group (Tideway B/V) in Aberdeen.

The Flintstone Vessel uses
HAIN for it's rock fall pipe, outputting velocities to the Seatools computer software. The calibrations and accuracies needed must be very precise, making HAIN the perfect solution.
